Adonit Jot Flip Stylus Review

I’ve owned an iPad for quite some time now, with it’s main purpose to replace dozens of binders for school. I use an app called Notability (which I will write a review for it later), with a stylus to take notes in class. Previously I’ve used a regular rubber tip stylus, the standard kind that’s sold everywhere. It’s alright to take notes; I often have an issue where the rubber will skid the surface and skip while I’m trying to take notes and it doesn’t show up properly. Whenever I visit a tech store, I often go by to see if there is any alternatives for it since I wanted to take notes as efficiently and smoothly as possible. I saw the Adonit Jot Flip pen at Staples and decided to give it a try.

The little plastic tip of the stylus is pretty ingenious, it glides onto the surface of the tablet really smoothly and effectively — way better than the rubber ends! Writing notes on the tablet has never been more fun! It’s also great for drawing and colouring on the iPad as well. Each of the stylus also comes with a cap to protect the disc from damage and making the stylus look very chic. There are several kinds of these stylus and they come in different colours as well:

Jot Classic: which is just the stylus and the cap
Jot Pro: has rubber grip and magnetic cling to stick onto the metal part of the tablet
Jot Mini: smaller stylus with a cap
Jot Flip: rubber grip with pen clip and twist up pen on the other end with cap
Jot Touch: bluetooth 4.0 pressure sensitive stylus with palm rejection with cap and charging dock

you can check out more information on each of these at the website http://adonit.net/store/product/ .

The one I got was the Jot Flip. It is a plastic disc on one end and on the other is a pen that comes up and down if you twist the stylus. This is really neat because it’s out of your way when you don’t need it and it also doesn’t spill any ink too. I don’t see them sell this at Bestbuy or Futureshop, only at Staples so far. The disc is detachable and you have to be careful with hitting the tip at something hard because it can fall off with a strong force and since they’re clear, it’s hard to look for it. I actually accidentally knocked it off and couldn’t find it, so I ended up having to order new discs for it. I tried amazon but the reviews weren’t good and I was afraid of getting knock offs, so I purchased from their actual website. They also have replacement parts for caps too incase you lose your cap. The shipping took less than 2 weeks for it to arrive (to Canada from Asia) .. I think their headquarters is in Taiwan I’m not sure lol.

After using this I cannot go back to using the rubber end stylus anymore! I highly recommend this if you write or draw on your iPad a lot! I don’t think its that pricey considering I use it everyday for school and it serves it purpose perfectly. The Jot Flip was 35$, cause it came with the pen .. you can get the regular ones and I think they run for 16$ .. you can always check out their site for more details.

loading IPAs into iOS devices

i do not condone piracy, but if you need to try an app out or need to see how it runs before buying it then here yah go 🙂

  1. have a jailbroken device, and install AppSync 5/6 and afc2add, the current one working as of this article is from cydia source apt.appvv.com/en/
  2. download ifunbox (looks like a cheesy website, but its legit, i downloaded and tested it on MAC OSX, i heard there could be junk that comes with windows version )
  3. download app IPAs from torrent sites (fastest speed) or by googling “insert app name IPA” , ( first few hits will be from http://ipad-os.net – legit)
  4. open up ifunbox, connect iDevice, click “install app”, locate IPA and let it install =)
  5. you should have the new app on the screen, done!

jailbreak iOS 6.1 , evasi0n untethered

ipod, ipad, iphone with iOS 6.1

  1. download software at www.evasi0n.com
  2. unzip and run the software, then connect device when prompted
  3. wait for software to jailbreak
  4. there will be a step 2/3 loading time in telling you to unlock your screen and tap on jailbreak button once
  5. when jailbreak is done, Cydia will appear on your screen
  6. tap Cydia and let it load all necessary files, choose developer mode

sources to add(cydia > manage > edit > add)

  • apt.appvv.com/en/ – has alternative to installous : vshare
  • cydia.iphonecake.com – has alternative to installous : appcake
  • ihacksrepo.com – cydia cracked tweaks/apps
  • repocydia.com – cydia cracked tweaks/apps

there are more sources like xsellize, sinful, biteyourapple, but the ones mentioned are the ones i use most often that has most of the tweaks or apps i need, a quick google search for top cydia sources will give you a handful of more 🙂

tweaks/apps to add

  • killbackground – one button kill all running apps
  • nolockscreen  – skip the slide to unlock screen
  • sbsettings  – a navigation bar to access common features
  • vshare, appcake  – to download games/apps like the app store
  • password pilot  – saves your app store password so you don’t have to re-enter it every time you buy app (use with caution)

the list goes on .. but these are some of the ones i get first 🙂

distant love

does absence make the heart grow fonder?

or out of sight out of mind?

tumblr_kxmbkfoPAQ1qzi33yo1_500

it really depends on the duration and the situation .. if you think about that person everyday and long to see them .. i think the heart will grow fonder .. but if you go about your day doing your daily things .. and you don’t think a lot about them .. then your feelings will just stay neutral or eventually fade a bit …
